Visitor Reviews

"Ragunan Zoo is highly beneficial for children's learning and development. The grounds have been renovated, making it very clean, attractive, and offering numerous photo spots alongside educational exhibits about Indonesian wildlife. There is an AC area in the Primate House. Also, do not worry—several locations already feature Braille signage. Regarding payment, you can currently pay directly on-site without needing to purchase tickets online."

"I visited Ragunan around 12:00 PM and saw a monkey repeatedly and forcefully banging against its cage fence, whether from heat stress or inherent aggression. The animals are actually cute, but it is pity to see the cleanliness lacking; there is still much mold and flies on scattered animal feed, along with mosquitoes. It would be better to prioritize animal welfare and cleanliness rather than just offering low prices while appearing neglected."

— Sara (3/5)

"The jogging track at Ragunan Zoo can be considered one of the most comfortable running spots in South Jakarta. The path is quite wide, featuring a mix of asphalt and paving with gentle undulations. The route spans approximately 5–6 km around the zoo grounds, making it ideal for a relaxed long run. If you arrive too late (after 8 AM), it begins to get crowded with general visitors."

— Saroyo (5/5)

"The zoo is really fun with plenty of animals to see. For admission, you can use e-money cards; a single card can be tapped for multiple people. The area is very spacious, but rest assured, there are bicycle rentals and shuttle-like vehicles for touring. You are allowed to bring outside food, and there are also vendors inside."

— Sutrisno (5/5)

"I visit frequently due to the proximity and affordable prices. It's fun to rent a bicycle and tour while watching the animals, so walking isn't exhausting. Renting an electric bike is even more worthwhile. The primate center is very lush, and you can jog there as well since there is a dedicated track."

With a continuous refinement of educational programs, conservation efforts, and recreational facilities, the grounds deliver a meaningful experience for every visitor. You can rely on this location as an outdoor learning space, a zone for casual exercise, or a temporary escape from the city's hustle and bustle. Arrive well-prepared, savor every corner, and actively support the preservation initiatives that have been cultivated over decades.
