Visitor Reviews

"I visited here for a field trip. The location is truly strategic and not far from the main road. I initially thought it was just the old building, but there is actually a new building right next to it that has been there since 2016. There are 3 floors, but only 2 can be visited directly. The lighting in the new building is excellent, and the old building really feels like a home. Admission is 5k/person, it’s clean, well-organized, and worth visiting."

"The museum is a single 3-story house filled with Mr. Basoeki’s works from his lifetime. The most memorable part for me was seeing his personal belongings and visiting his private bedroom. Honestly, I felt a bit scared seeing them alone because the atmosphere is extremely quiet. Mr. Basoeki’s works are truly extraordinary and have reached international levels, bringing honor to Indonesia on the world stage."

"I first visited in 2017 and returned in 2024; there have been quite a few changes. The private residence area remains the same, with the first floor containing the living room, library, and Basoeki Abdullah’s bedroom. The first floor displays memorabilia ranging from clothing and weapons to the final pajamas he was wearing when he was murdered. The second floor area houses a collection of Basoeki Abdullah paintings, both original and reproductions, as well as masks and shadow puppets. For admission, the museum charges IDR 5,000 for adults and IDR 3,000 for children."

"The museum is located inside the residential compound. You really need to pay close attention to the map. The interior of the museum is spacious and very clean. Essentially, it is the Basoeki Abdullah family home, so it displays his paintings as well as many works by his friends. Numerous personal items and his personal collections are on display. It is enjoyable to visit here because the place is tranquil."
