Why Visit This Establishment

The standout feature of Warkop Bulungan lies in its balance of affordable pricing and consistent food quality. The venue offers two distinct dining areas: an outdoor space cooled by large industrial fans and a comfortable air-conditioned indoor section. The presence of a dedicated prayer room (musholla) and clean restrooms further enhances visitor convenience. Additionally, strategically placed power outlets make it an ideal choice for remote workers seeking a workspace while enjoying their meals.

Guest Experience

Visitors can engage in a variety of activities here, from family meals and friend gatherings to large group iftar dinners (bukber). The ordering system utilizes a loudspeaker for name announcements, offering a unique dining experience uncommon in other coffee shops. Guests can also order from neighboring restaurants via the "taichan" service, significantly expanding their dining options. A second floor provides an additional, more spacious dining area, ideal for larger parties.

Culinary Offerings

Warkop Bulungan features a diverse array of signature Indonesian dishes that form the cornerstone of its appeal. The kecombrang (wild ginger) fried rice is a house favorite, prepared using the traditional "areng" (charcoal-fired wok) technique, which imparts a distinctive smoky aroma and savory-spicy flavor. Noodles lovers can enjoy mi nyemek and various Indomie variations with comprehensive toppings. A refreshing cincau jelly iced coffee is a guest favorite. Additionally, fried rice with salted egg and glutinous rice is frequently ordered. However, some patrons have noted that flavor consistency and topping portions may vary depending on the time of visit.

Pricing and Admission

Warkop Bulungan is renowned for its highly budget-friendly pricing. Guests need not worry about excessive spending when enjoying hearty meals at this establishment. The accessible price range makes it an ideal spot for daily dining without straining the budget. While some visitors consider the salted egg fried rice slightly overpriced, the overall value delivered justifies the cost.

Visitor Reviews

"Oh my God, waiting for the Indomie and fried rice took almost an hour… is this a coffee shop or a slow-kitchen concept? Seriously, the wait time is far too long for such simple dishes. I went from being extremely hungry to completely losing my appetite by the time the food arrived. And when it finally came, it was quite surprising… I ordered Indomie with an omelet topping, but only got a quarter portion."

"The venue is fantastic for gatherings, and very comfortable since the tables aren't crammed together. The outdoor area has plenty of fans, so there's no need to worry about the heat, while the indoor section is fully air-conditioned. Most importantly, the service is incredibly fast… You order and your food is ready almost immediately, which is amazing. As for the pricing, it's still very budget-friendly, so you can confidently order hearty meals without worry."

— Ombi Verse (5/5)

"The indoor area could be cleaner; there are quite a few flies inside. I ordered the fried rice with salted egg, but it felt overpriced. Also, the photo didn't match the actual dish, as the sunny-side-up egg was served separately. The rice seemed slightly undercooked. However, the Cincau iced coffee was quite good."

— Tuhu Nugraha Dewanto (Tuhu) (3/5)

"Perfect for group iftar dinners. This is the busiest coffee shop in South Jakarta; weekends always require a waiting list. The food is delicious, prices are low, and the space is vast (outdoor, air-conditioned indoor, second floor). Plenty of power outlets, a prayer room, and clean toilets. Highly recommended: kecombrang fried rice (smoky, savory-spicy), still cooked over charcoal. The menu is extensive and excellent! You can also order via the taichan service and will be called by name over the loudspeaker."

— Aurelia Devina (5/5)

"The mi nyemek was bland, lacking savory depth and creaminess, and overcooked. Did they skip chopping the bird's eye chilies?? Only curly chilies were used. Curly chilies are tough and completely different from bird's eye chilies. It's a fatal flaw for an Indomie coffee shop to lack bird's eye chilies. Those who prefer spice found it nauseatingly mild. They also provided barely a drizzle of chili oil, which was unnoticeable when mixed. Extra chili oil incurs an additional charge."
